Amber Reach is an ancient reach in the mountains far to the west, beyond the country the party first knew — a land of old stone tied to pre-god titan ages, its slopes marked with mysterious glyphs. Tamber's great map showed it lying west, past the edge of the known world. It lies west of Verrow's Span, with routes threading toward Tern’s Watch and St. Thera’s Remit.
The Amber Reach is tied to Draz's family history. In a hard season his father and his twin siblings went west to the Amber Reach — the twins kept, and Draz, the youngest, given up to the Wilds; his mother was already dead. His great-aunt, an elder of Verrow's Span, told him as much. This region stands as a pivotal point of origin for Draz's lineage.
Reaching Ygva in a dream, Sylvie saw a sumptuous chamber with a long table and tall windows — a place she knew from a childhood picture-book, somewhere in the Amber Reach to the west — and judged she could step there in a single blink. It proved to be the Celsian Compound, seat of the Celsian Athenaeum, which stands within the Amber Reach.
